President Al-Assad: Attempts to Undermine Arab Identity and Culture Gravest Danger Facing Arab Nation
DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that “the gravest danger facing our nations is embodied by attempts of undermining the Arab identity and culture.”
President Al-Assad was speaking during His Excellency’s meeting with members of the General Secretariat and heads of organizations in the Union of Arab Teachers participating in the Unions’ 19th General Conference held in Damascus.
The President affirmed the important role that can be played by education institutions and people’s organizations of the Arab countries in deepening awareness about the Arab identity, in maintaining the Arabic language and in fortifying the young generation against the cultural invasion represented in the takfiri terrorist mentality which has become a serious threat to the existence of the Arab nation.
H.E. reiterated the need to institutionalize Arab people’s organizations through integrating their roles and holding wider meetings. He said these organizations’ role is important because they defend the interests and the views of the different categories they represent.
On their part, representatives of Arab teachers said that holding their conference in Damascus stresses their full solidarity with Syria in the confrontation of the heinous terrorist aggression targeting the country for its national stances and for adherence to its independent decision and Arab belongingness.
They pointed out that they will carry messages to their countries assuring them that Syria will emerge victorious from the crisis soon, thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the sacrifices of its army.
