President Al-Assad at the Arab-Islamic Summit: Israeli aggression on Gaza is part of a long history of Zionist criminality that started 75 years ago

President Bashar Al-Assad on Saturday made a speech at the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit being held in Riyadh in which he stressed that “Gaza has never been the cause..Palestine has been the cause and Gaza is the core of this cause.”

He said “Gaza is part of a whole and the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza is part of a long history of Zionist criminality that started 75 years ago”.

The President affirmed that 32 years of failed “peace” has led to nothing but more escalation of aggression and brutality by the Israeli entity and more suffering for the Palestinian people.

“Neither the lands nor the rights have returned, neither in Palestine nor in the Golan. This situation has produced a political equation proving that the more Arab meekness the more Zionist brutality and massacres against us,” President Al-Assad said, adding that “more leniency from our side is met by more massacres against us”.

“Under this clear equation, we can’t discuss the aggression on Gaza separately from the Zionist massacres committed previously against the Palestinians. And, the ongoing criminality cannot be separated from the way we, as Arab and Islamic countries, deal with events partially from the Palestinian cause,” he explained.

The talk about the two states and other details is not a priority despite its importance, as the talk about this issue will be of no use, he said.

The president went on to say “what is urgent in our summit is not the killing; rather, it is Zionism’s superiority over itself in barbarism, which puts us before unprecedented responsibilities.”

President Al-Assad also said that “from a humanitarian perspective, there is no doubt that it is our duty to contribute to providing the minimum requirements of life in Gaza, whether through immediate aid or rebuilding the necessary infrastructure in a later stage.”

He asked “Does the Palestinian people need from us humanitarian aid first, or protection from the coming genocide against them?  “Here lies our political action”, he pointed out.

The president explained “if we do not have real tools for pressure, then any step we take or speech we make is meaningless”, pointing out that the Arabs have actual political tools, foremost of which is stopping any political track with the Zionist entity, including the economic affairs or other issues, and that the return of this track must be under the condition that this entity should commit itself to an immediate and long-term cessation of criminality against all the Palestinians all over Palestine, and allow bringing immediate humanitarian aid into Gaza.”

“Only through our will, backed by the vast public opinion in our countries, and through the new situation imposed by the Palestinian resistance in our region, we possessed these tools, not through our calls on the Western countries and international institutions to shoulder their responsibilities. So. Let’s use these tools and let’s benefit from the change at the international level which has opened new doors, which have been closed for decades, to enter and change the equations, and let the dear souls of the martyrs in Palestine be the price of achieving what we couldn’t achieve in the past and what we must achieve at present and in the future”, the President concluded.
