President Al-Assad arrives in the United Arab Emirates on an official visit

President Bashar Al-Assad arrived this afternoon in the United Arab Emirates on an official visit, during which he was accompanied by First Lady Asma Al-Assad.

When  arriving at the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi, President Al-Assad  was received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

Upon entering the airspace of the UAE, President Al-Assad’s plane was accompanied by several warplanes, welcoming his visit. Then President Al-Assad went to Al-Watan Palace to start talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Mrs. Asma Al-Assad will meet with Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation.

An official reception ceremony took place for President Al-Assad at Al-Watan Palace, where Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan accompanied President Al-Assad to the platform of honor and the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic was played, while artillery fired 21 rounds and a group of honor guards lined up to salute his sovereignty.

President Bashar Al-Assad is accompanied by a delegation that includes Dr. Samer Al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mansour Azzam, Minister of Presidency Affairs, Dr. Boutros Hallaq, Minister of Information, Dr. Ayman Sousan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
