President al-Assad appoints new governors for 5 provinces

  DAMASCUS, (ST)_President Bashar al-Assad has appointed new governors for provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Lattakia, Quneitra, and Tartous.

The appointment of the new governors came in a legislative decree issued Wednesday.

The governors are:

-Dr. Mohammad Marwan Olabi [Aleppo Governor].

-Dr. Kheredden al-Sayyed [Idlib Governor].

-Ibrahim Khedr al-Salem [Lattakia Governor].

-Ahmad al-Sheikh Abdulqader [Quneitra Governor].

-Safwan Abo Sa’adeh  [Tartous Governor].

Here below Curriculum Vitae of the new governors:

-Dr. Mohammad Marwan Olabi was born in Aleppo in 1942. He earned Ph.D. in Agricultural sciences in 1986. Occupied position of Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Aleppo University Branch in 1986-2000. Elected as Member of Parliament in the first legislative term in 2011. Married with son and daughter.

-Dr. Kheredden al-Sayyed was born in Tartous in 1956. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Damascus University in 1980. Occupied the following positions: Director of the military hospital in Tartous in 1987; Director of Tartous Blood Bank; Director of al-Bassel Hospital in 1994; Director of Tartous Health Directorate between 2000 and 2013. Married with two daughters.

-Ibrahim Khedr al-Salem was born in Homs in 1960. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from Damascus University in 1984. Internal Security forces volunteer in 1984. He was appointed Head of The Criminal Security Branches in Hasaka, Idlib and Damascus; Director of Drug Enforcement Administration and Head of Aleppo Police Command in 2012; Lattakia Governor. He graduated from National Defense Faculty in 2010. Married with two sons plus two daughters.

-Ahmad al-Sheikh Abdulqader was born in Damascus countryside in 1955. He got bachelor’s degree in Law from Damascus University in 1982. Internal Security forces volunteer in 1983. He was appointed Director and Secretary of the Cabinet’s Affairs; Lattakia Governor in 2013. Married with three sons plus daughter.  

-Safwan Abo Sa’adeh was born inSweida in 1972. He got an academic degree in Law from Damascus University. He occupied position of the Head of Sweida City’s council 2003-2010; Idlib Governor since 2013. Married with two sons and two daughters.
