President Al-Assad addresses the Armed forces on Army Day

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, addressed the Syrian Armed forces on the 78th Army Day.

President Al-Assad said: “I salute our valiant armed forces on their 78th Day, as they have proved year after year that they are worthy of trust and that they are the protectors of the present and the future of the homeland”.

President Al-Assad added that the Syrian Arab Army has been the symbol of hope of the honorable and free people, and the example of heroism and bravery.

President Al-Assad called on the Syrian Arab Army to work together as to maintain the homeland’s security and stability as to help it recover and restore its strength.

President Al-Assad continued by saying that since the Armed Forces are the guarantee of security and the main pillar of stability, it is imperative that they always remain fully prepared, each in his position and place of work, in the light of the challenges so that the homeland rises again.

The President said that after the long and difficult years of war, we have the right to be proud of our steadfastness, which would not have been possible had it not been for the availability of the elements of steadfastness of which our armed forces are the most prominent example.

“Hence, our valiant armed forces will always remain the subject of care and attention at various levels and in a way that guarantees the successful  implementation of the tasks entrusted to it in the service of the homeland and the citizens,” he added.

President Al-Assad concluded by saying: Syria, as a homeland, deserves sacrifice, efforts and giving by its sons to help it always be in a position that befits its history and pivotal role.
