President Al- Sharaa said “Our country has endured bitter and difficult experiences over the past years until it achieved its freedom and the people’s revolution reached its goals. However, it has recently been subjected to numerous attempts to destabilize it and drag it into the quagmire of chaos.””
“Today, as we stand at this critical moment, we find ourselves facing a new danger—attempts by remnants of the former regime and those behind them from external parties to create new strife, dragging our country into a civil war with the aim of dividing it and destroying its unity and stability.” He added.
President Al-Shara pointed out “We are fully aware that the dangers we face today are not mere passing threats but the direct result of opportunistic attempts by forces seeking to perpetuate chaos and destroy what remains of our beloved homeland. ”
“What is happening in certain areas of the coast is the clearest example of these attempts. This is not the first time—something similar happened a month and a half ago, and we successfully quelled it, thanks to God.” He added.
President Al-Sharaa said “We must acknowledge the facts that the fallen regime left behind deep wounds during its rule: Palestine Security Branch, Sednaya, the security branches, rape, chemical attacks, displacement, and demolishing homes over their residents. ”
“All of this inflicted wounds are incredibly difficult to heal. Yesterday’s events are among the consequences of these actions, despite the state’s efforts from the very first moment to prevent them.” He added.
“From the very first moments, we reinforced the region with security forces to protect civil peace and prevent retaliatory acts. ” The president made it clear.
He indicated “These forces were attacked, many of them were brutally killed and burned, and the local residents were assaulted. Those who committed this heinous crime are the same ones responsible for the horrific crimes against the Syrian people over the past 14 years.”
President Al-Shara said “What they did shattered the barrier that maintained civil peace, leading to violations and a wave of chaos that we all witnessed. Therefore, we must all remain steadfast and strong in the face of those who seek to incite sectarian tensions and internal conflicts.”
President Al-Sharaa stressed “We assure the Syrian people and all those who care about our homeland that we will not tolerate the remnants of Assad who have committed crimes against our army forces and state institutions, attacked hospitals, killed innocent civilians, and spread chaos in safe areas. These individuals have only one option: to surrender themselves to the law immediately.”
“We affirm that we will hold accountable—firmly and without leniency—anyone involved in the bloodshed of civilians, anyone who has harmed our people, exceeded the authority of the state, or exploited power for personal gain.” The president Al- Sharaa said.
He indicated ” No one will be above the law, and all those whose hands are stained with the blood of Syrians will face justice sooner rather than later.”
President Al-Sharaa said “We criminalize any call or appeal that seeks to interfere in our country’s affairs or incites discord and the division of our beloved Syria. There is no place among us for such calls. Syria, with all its components, will remain united through the will of its people and the strength of its army. We will not allow any party to tamper with its national unity or undermine civil peace.”
“Accordingly, we have announced the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate the events in the coastal region, bring those responsible to justice, and reveal the truth to the Syrian people—so that everyone knows who is behind these seditions and plots.” The president added
President Al-Sharaa: “We will also announce the formation of a Supreme Committee for the Preservation of Civil Peace, which will be tasked—under the mandate of the Presidency—with direct communication with the residents of the Syrian coast. This committee will listen to their concerns and provide the necessary support to ensure their security and stability while strengthening national unity during this critical phase.”
“We call all regional and global nations to stand by Syria at this historic moment and reaffirm their full respect for its unity and sovereignty.” The president said.
“Syria will remain steadfast. We will not allow any foreign forces or internal factions to drag it into chaos or civil war. We remain committed to our path, determined to move forward toward a future worthy of our great people.” President Al- Sharaa concluded.
