President Ahmadinejad: foreign Interference in Syria should end

TEHRAN, (ST)_ All who meddle in Syria’s internal affairs should back off and respect the rights of the Syrian People, underscored President Mahmud Ahmadinejad of Iran.

 “Unrest in Syria means expansion of insecurity in the whole region, and any attempt to disintegrate Syria means constant instability for decades.” President Ahmadinejad was quoted by Press TV, during his meeting Sunday  with UN Special Envoy to Syria, Lakhdar al-Ibrahimi.

 On his part, Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar salehi, who also held talks with al-Ibrahimi, voiced Iran’s optimism that al-Ibrahimi, could help find a ”peaceful solution” to Syrian issue.

“Mr. al-Ibrahimi and we share the point that, prior to any measure, violence and killings should be stopped,” asserting Iran’s readiness to work ”hand-in-hand” with al-Ibrahimi as to assist in ending the crisis in Syria.
