Preparations underway for the launch of the Syrian Social Club and the Syrian International School in Muscat
Preparations are underway to launching the Syrian Social Club and the Syrian International School in the Omani capital, Muscat.
During an expanded meeting with members of the Syrian community in the Sultanate of Oman and the Syrian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Maya, the ongoing preparations for launching the Syrian Social Club were reviewed after a decision was issued in this respect by the Omani Ministry of Social Development with regard to the establishment of the Syrian International School in Muscat. The school will be teaching the curriculum approved in Syria.
Maya explained that this would provide a great service to the people of the community, noting that the Syrian decision to allow any Omani citizen who wishes to visit Syria to obtain a visa from the border crossings met with great satisfaction from the Omani side.
Maya stated that this step came in implementation of the recommendations of the joint governmental committee that was held in Muscat on the 12th and 13th of last July. The recommendations stressed the necessity to do everything that would raise the relations of economic cooperation and trade and tourism exchange between the two sides to the level of their distinguished political relations.
During the meeting, members of the community who made important contributions during the past period were honored.
