Premier: Syrian Government Keen on Boosting Cooperation with its Friends in Russia, Iran and Belarus
DAMASCUS, (ST)-Prime Minster Imad Khamis has stressed the Syrian government’s keenness on enhancing its ties with the friendly countries of Russia, Iran and Belarus and on boosting economic cooperation with them.
The premier made the remarks in cables he sent to the prime ministers of Russia and Belarus, Dmitry Medvedev and Andrei Kobyakov and to Iran’s First Vice-President Ishaq Jahangiri thanking them for their kind congratulations to him on becoming the Prime Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic.
In his cables, Khamis expressed the Syrian government and people’s appreciation over the “noble supportive stances of the leaderships and peoples of Russia, Iran and Belarus which helped the Syrians withstand the ongoing terrorist war against them.
