Premier Khamis affirms the need for boosting economic relations with Iran

Damascus – Prime Minister Emad Khamis said on Wednesday that the victory in Aleppo and in all Syrian land is an overthrow to the US-West project in the region and a victory for the resistance axis.

Khamis, meeting Iranian Assistance foreign Minister for the Arab-African Affairs Hussein Jaberi Ansari, stressed the need for having “ a new vision in the economic relations between Syria and Iran on the public and private levels,” SANA reported.

“The deep-rooted and consolidated status that distinguishes relations between Syria and Iran in the political and economic domains have imposed the new visions that we started to work through in order to promote the economic relations up to the level of the historic political relations between the two states,” Khamis underlined.

Jaberi Ansari, for his part, expressed happiness over visiting Syria after the great victory in Aleppo, saying “we bless the Syrian people with this victory.”

“Our relations have been special and exceptional throughout decades, they were strategic, so we have to work together to develop these relations,” Ansari said.

In turn, Ansari underlined the importance of the victory achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in Aleppo city, stressing that the liberation of Aleppo is a turning point in the history of the crisis in Syria which has bolstered the resolve of Syria and Iran to fight the scourge of terrorism.

The Iranian official reviewed during the meeting the coordination mechanisms between Syria and Iran with regard to political developments, particularly those related to the tripartite meeting between Russia, Iran and Turkey which was held in Moscow on Tuesday.

Ansari affirmed that the relations between Syria and Iran are deep-rooted and firm in the face of the conspiracy, adding that coordination and consultation between the two sides will continue in the interest of the two peoples in Iran and Syria.
