DAMASCUS, (ST)- Marking International Cancer Day, Prime Minister Imad Khamis on Thursday visited the Cancer and Blood Diseases section at the Children Hospital in Damascus to check the conditions of patients and the medical services and treatment provided to them.
During his tour in the section, the premier stressed the need to provide best medical treatment for children with cancer, pointing out that the terrorist war on Syria and the coercive unilateral measures imposed on the Syrian people couldn’t prevent the health sector to render services and meet patients’ needs.
He hailed the efforts exerted by the hospital’s cadre in order to provide necessary medical care to children. He affirmed that the government will continue to do its duty to provide medicines and treatment needs for all children with cancer free of charge.
