Premier Arnous to Ambassador Sluka: The necessity of strengthening intra-trade procedures between Syria and Belarus

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous met this morning with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus, Yuri Sluka.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various economic, commercial and scientific fields, increase scholarships offered to Syrian students, and solve the difficulties in the process of exchanging goods and basic materials needed by the markets of the two countries, in a way that achieves the common interest and contributes to confronting the Western pressures and blockade to which the two countries are exposed. .

The Prime Minister stressed the Syrian government’s keenness to provide all facilities and take the required measures to implement the agreements and understandings that were signed during the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, to Syria, pointing out the importance of strengthening intra-trade procedures and advancing cooperation in the sectors of energy, education, and culture.

For his part, the Belarusian ambassador expressed his country’s desire to expand the bonds of joint cooperation to include all vital and important fields that serve the economies of the two countries and achieve a qualitative leap in the relations linking Syria and Belarus. The Belarusian official indicated the readiness of Belarusian companies to contribute to the reconstruction in Syria.

Ambassador Sluka delivered to Engineer Arnous a message from his Belarusian counterpart, which included an invitation to visit Minsk and discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and reach new agreements that achieve the common interest.
