Premier al-Halqi: Restoring Security, Meeting Citizens Needs the Priority

 

 

 

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi underlined  that the government exerts strenuous efforts to provide the basic needs to the citizens, rehabilitate what has been sabotaged by the armed terrorist groups in the sectors of petroleum, electricity, health, communications and transport.

“In spite of the systematic targeting of the electrical power stations, railways, communications and hospitals, the government reforms and reconstructs what has been damaged by those groups,” al-Halqi said in a speech at the 29th Conference of Syria Physicians’ Syndicate on Wednesday.

“the average of deficiency in electricity has decreased from 15% into 10%, and the volume of losses in the service sector due to the acts of the armed groups has amounted SP 2000 bln in addition to targeting the oil pipelines aiming at harming the Syrian citizen in his livelihood,al-Halqi added.

“The Syrian government seeks to provide materials and oil products, including the fuel, Gas and gasoline in spite of the blockade and the unfair sanctions on this sector which is considered as one of the most important revenues of the state general budget,” the prime Minister said.

He added that the government is committed to the policy of subsidies and allocates huge amounts for them through offering SP 320 bln for supporting Fuel, SP 300 bln for electricity and SP 60 bln for bread.

Restoring security, law and stability on the entire Syrian soil is the governments priority, al-Halqi stressed.

He highly lauded  Syrian Army’s role  in defending the homeland and winning the war against the armed terrorist groups.
