DAMASCUS, (ST)- Supplies of electric power to the Syrian cities blacked out as a result of a terrorist act will resume within 48 hours, Syria’s Energy Minister Imad Khamis said Wednesday night.

A number of districts in Damascus and a few other cities in the country were blacked out Wednesday night as a result of a terrorist explosion on a pipeline delivering natural gas to a distribution substation in southern Damascus.

By the time of reporting, electricity outages had been confirmed in Tartous, Latakiya, Homs, and Tal Kalakh.
