Popular protests continue against the separatist SDF militia in Qamishli and its countryside

Popular protests against the separatist SDF militia and its practices against the people of Qamishli and its countryside continued for the fourth day in a row.

Local sources of Qamishli reported that residents and dozens of shop owners gathered at the municipality roundabout in the city of Qamishli to denounce the package of measures imposed by the militia on the residents. The separatist militia has increased restrictions on the residents and shop owners which resulted in damaging their commercial activities and forced many of them to abandon the cultivation of their fields in Qamishli countryside.

In this context, a number of citizens participating in the protests confirmed that the purpose of going out in the demonstrations is to convey the citizen’s voice to public opinion, demanding an end to the barbaric actions of the militia, which affected the livelihood of citizens on the one hand, and prompted large numbers of young men to leave the areas controlled by the militia, in order to escape being recruited and forced to fight in its ranks.

It is noteworthy that similar demonstrations took place in the towns of Ma’bada and Amuda in the Qamishli countryside, in addition to a general strike in the city of Al-Malikiyah and in several neighborhoods of the city of Qamishli.
