Polyansky: The West uses the Ukrainians as fuel in a war against Russia

Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky has stressed that the West is using the Ukrainians as fuel in a proxy war against Russia.

During a Security Council meeting on Tuesday, Polyansky said that “the western colleagues’ concern about Ukraine and the Ukrainians is extremely opportunistic and selfish. They need the Ukrainians only to fuel a proxy war against Russia that continues until the last Ukrainian.”

“Calls for ceasefire in Ukraine aim at giving Kiev a chance to catch its breath,” he added.

He went on to say that “The extremists and neo-Nazis don’t hesitate to hide from our army in the Azovstal plant in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, and after a month of siege, they said that there were civilians with them all this time, but they did not talk about this before.  By doing so, they again exposed themselves, as civilians can only be there as human shields.”

“You are trying to rewrite modern history in an anti-Russian manner and you are supporting the craziest speculations of some of our colleagues in Eastern Europe regarding the role of the Soviet Union in liberating Europe and the entire world from Nazism,” Polyansky clarified.

According to Polyansky, the goal of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine is to protect the people of Donetsk, Lugansk and Russia from the threat coming from Ukraine.
