Poetry evening held at Homs Literary Saloon

Homs (ST):  A poetry evening was held at Homs Literary Saloon in the new cultural Centre in the city with the participation of a number of outstanding Syrian poets.

Director of the Saloon poet Mohammad Abdullah inaugurated the event with a national poem in which he symbolically expressed his love to his homeland and the city of Damascus highlighting the city’s eventful history and genuine civilization.

In her elegant Sufi style, poetess Ghada al-Yousef read a sentimental poem in which she tackled the issue of love which unifies lovers in the universe.

Poetess Madeline Tannous contributed a poem about the city of Homs throwing light on the city’s great civilization and history. The poetess also cast light on the terrorist acts that targeted the city and caused devastating damage to its archaeological monuments with the aim of wiping out its remarkable contribution to human civilization.

The Martyrs’ Mother was a poem contributed by Dr. Gaith Rajouh who highlighted the great sacrifices offered by Martyrs’ mothers over the last nine years during which Syria was subjected to a global conspiracy.

The event was concluded by a national poem by poetess Safa’a Dib who highlighted the great victories realized by the Syria Arab army against terrorism and its backers.
