Poetry Evening by Chilean Poet Rosabetty Munoz at Alif Noon Gallery in Damascus

Alif Noon Gallery organized on Sunday a poetry evening by Chilean poet Rosabetty Munoz entitled:” Poems from the South” during which she recited 7 poems that dealt with the beauty of nature in her homeland and she talked about love, giving, homeland and humanity.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the poet Munoz said: Poetry has the ability to bring us together and bring cultures closer, and by poetry, the words reach the other party despite the difference in language. The evidence of this is that some meanings can reach the audience despite their lack of mastery of the language.

She explained that her visit to Damascus today has a great meaning stressing that Syria is the cradle of civilization and a great reference for the Chileans.

Just as the Chileans were influenced by Spanish culture which in turn was influenced by Arab, her country was also influenced by Arab culture and “this is what we see in the historical places. Poetry always makes us feel that we are part of the world.

In turn, the director of the Alif Noon Gallery, the Plastic artist Badie Jahjah explained that the gallery always brings art from all over the world, as beauty and art may be in a poem, a painting, or a sculpture regardless of its origin. The gallery hosted a woman from Chile’s great poets and ehe brought with her the most beautiful poems.

The evening of poetry was concluded with Mawlawi performances, expressing gratitude for what the Chilean poet presented.
