Damascus, (ST) – Prime Minister Imad Khamis chaired yesterday a meeting, which included chairman and members of the Aleppo Chambers of Commerce. The meeting aimed at drawing up a vision to activate the economic sectors in the city of Aleppo, to raise the level of these sectors’ performance because they represent one of the most important partners in the development process and to activate the participatory role between the business sector and the government.
The Prime Minister confirmed the government’s willingness to overcome the obstacles and challenges and to provide necessary facilitations to make a real leap in the performance of economic sectors in the city in order to bring about a radical change in this sector as to play the leading role in the development process with the participation of government sectors as well as to seeking guaranteeing the return of commercial activity in Aleppo to its former glory.
Eng. Khamis referred to the key role of the members of the Chamber of Commerce in immediately starting the production process, in restoring brightness to the commercial sector and in restarting work in factories.
During the meeting, discussions focused on finding balanced mechanisms to deal with non-performing loans and to support small projects and workshops.
