PM: Priority for Rehabilitation of Industrial Cities

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Prime Minister Dr. Wa’el al -Halaqi recently reviewed with members of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry the problems facing the industrial sector, mechanisms to overcome them and the possibility of merging economic bodies and the Federation of Chambers, the realization of a participatory teamwork and creating new industries supporting the national economy.

Dr. al Halaqi, during a meeting with members of the Federation headed by Fares al-Shihabi, underlined that the integration of roles and efforts between the various industrial enterprises of public and private industrial establishments ensure the business continuity, flow of local industries in the markets, the provision of foreign exchange and the reduction of import.

“There is a priority interest in the industrial cities, rehabilitation and securing accessories, especially the industrial city in Sheikh Najjar and providing facilities for industrialists with the aim of moving the wheel of development,” Dr. al -Halaqi added.

For his part, Industry Minister Kamal Eddine Tomah stressed on the reality that the advancement of the industry sector and promotion of this sector needs to overcome the difficulties that face the industrialists.

Members of the Federation, in turn, expressed their willingness to contribute to the advancement of the industrial sector and revitalize the laboratories and factories, and access to a productive export economy, noting the government’s role in the revitalization of the industrial sector and to secure supplies of work.

Mr. al -Shihabi confirmed that various issues affecting industrialists and suggestions for the development of the mechanism of action were discussed during the meeting, noting that “the industrialists and the government team are in the same boat and work together to overcome obstacles in order to serve the national interest.”
