Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Sheibani, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported that the meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and develop them, as well as the latest developments in Syria and several issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Bin Jassim Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s stance in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independence, as well as the aspirations of its brotherly people for a dignified life and the establishment of a state based on institutions and the rule of law.
The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Qatar’s support for efforts to rebuild, reconstruct, and stabilize Syria.
Earlier, Minister Al-Sheibani arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, today to attend the Web Summit Qatar 2025 and meet with Qatari officials.
The Web Summit Qatar 2025, which kicks off today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center and runs until the 26th of this month, presents a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors and technology leaders and experts from around the world.
The office revealed that more than 25,000 participants will take part in the summit’s events, alongside over 1,500 startups, with 46% of them founded by women. Additionally, the number of participating Qatari startups has grown by 140% compared to last year.
The summit will also host over 300 speakers, 600 investors, and more than 150 partners, along with 600 media outlets from around the world covering the event—highlighting its growing global momentum.
This year’s edition marks the largest tech event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, forming part of a partnership with Web Summit that will extend until 2028.
The event aims to solidify Qatar’s position as a global hub for technology and innovation.
