PM meets WHO Regional Office’s Director over joint cooperation

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Prime Minister reiterated on Saturday the government’s keenness to deliver health services and humanitarian aid to all areas in Syria without exceptions.

Dr. Wael al-Halaqi clarified that health services target all civilians everywhere despite the armed terrorist organizations’ attacks and their prevention of  medical aid-access to some areas.

He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) especially in the light of the unfair siege on Syrian people.

Al-Halaqi’s remark came during his meeting today with Director of the WHO Regional Office Dr. Alaeddin Elwan.

The meeting dealt with how the terrorist organizations systematically targeted health sector, the efforts being exerted by government to rehabilitate the sector and mechanism of reactivating the joint  health cooperation .

On his part, Elwan expressed satisfaction over the strong cooperation between the WHO and the Syrian government to alleviates the Syrian people’s suffering.
