PM Khamis, Borisov Review Outcomes of Joint Syrian-Russian Commission

DAMASCUS-Prime Minister Imad Khamis and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yury Borisov reviewed the outcomes of the Russian-Syrian Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the follow-up steps to enforce them in the common interests of both countries, SANA reported.

Khamis considered the Joint Commission’s meetings “ a significant step’’ in boosting Syrian-Russian ties which should materialize the visions and aspirations of the leaderships in the two countries, affirming the importance of enhancing economic cooperation to an advanced level matching the strategic relation between Syria and Russia.

 SANA said that Khamis underlined the importance of closely following up on the Commission’s outcomes and enforcing them, stressing the need to invigorate the role of businessmen in forging partnerships serving the common interests.

Borisov, for his part, said Russia is keen to boost economic cooperation with Syria and to take part in the reconstruction stage, indicating that the signed agreements would serve the interests of the two countries, help in rebuilding Syria and improve the Syrian economy.
