PM inspects service and development sectors in Aleppo

Aleppo – Delegated by President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi inspected on Wednesday the performance of service, trade, industrial, agricultural and development sectors in Aleppo province as well as the citizens’ needs amid unfair economic blockade which is weighing heavily on the province.

During his visit, al-Halqi inspected a number of main road projects in the province, including the fourth stage of the rehabilitation works at Aleppo-Khanaser road at an approximate overall value of SYP 222 million as well as the second and third stages at a value of SYP 343 million, with the overall value of the three stages estimated at SYP 565 million.

In statements to journalists, al-Halqi said the visit is aimed to demonstrate the government’s interest in the situation in Aleppo that has withstood attacks by terrorists linked to Erdogan’s government.

He added that the government has employed all available resources to support “the steadfastness of Aleppo city” by re-operating factories and industrial facilities and restoring the commercial and development activities to normal in the city that is considered “the lifeline of the Syrian national economy.”
