DAMASCUS, (ST) – Prime Minister Dr. Wael al Halaqi has underlined the importance of promoting economic and trade relations with China to the level of political relations, reiterating his call for businessmen and Chinese companies to invest in Syria’s oil sector, creating the industrial cities and constructing plants for electric power generation.
Dr al –Halaqi, during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Zhang Xun, said that rebuilding Syria will not only be in the hands of the Syrians and across the friends, praising China’s positions of principle and fixed toward the global unjust war to Syria.
Dr. al –Halaqi expressed his government’s keenness to strengthen economic ties with China and take advantage of the economic potential of China’s major support for the Syrian economy and help in addressing the economic challenges facing this war.
He referred to the role played by the Chinese Ambassador in promoting relations between China and Syria and expanding horizons of these relations, pointing to the growing role of China and its active role on the international scene to enhance security and stability at the international level.
Dr. al –Halaqi reviewed future projects of the government in the reconstruction and reconstruction phase, which includes the electricity, telecommunications, electric power, industrial, agricultural and technical sectors.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador reiterated his country’s stand along with Syria in confronting the unjust war.
