PLO: The occupation’s use of Palestinians as human shields is a war crime

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The Palestine Liberation Organization confirmed that the Israeli occupation’s bombing of Palestinian homes and taking them as human shields in full view of the world is a war crime.

The Organization condemned in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, the occupation’s bombing of Palestinian homes in Jenin camp in the West Bank, preventing ambulances from reaching the wounded in the camp, and using Palestinians as human shields, stressing that these practices are a war crime in accordance with international laws and norms, and criticizing the silence of the international community on the crimes of the occupation, which continues to commit it with cover and protection from the Western countries that support it.

The Organization called on human rights institutions and associations in the countries of the world, especially Western ones, to put pressure on their governments to stop the policy of double standards and oblige the occupation authorities to implement international laws and stop their crimes against the Palestinians.

Eleven Palestinians were injured earlier today, during the Israeli occupation forces storming Jenin camp in the West Bank, and arrested two Palestinians whose house was targeted with rocket-propelled grenades, which led to its burning, while their mother was detained as a human shield in an attempt to prevent the Palestinian resistance from confronting it.
