Philippine Embassy in Syria holds 1st International Women’s Film Festival under the title “Women Make Change”

Under the patronage of Syria’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Loubana Mouchaweh,  the Philippine Embassy in Syria will hold the 1st International Women’s Film Festival at the Opera House in Damascus from March 23rd – 26th , 2022, in celebration of Women’s Month (March).

The event will be held in cooperation with the Diplomatic Club of Syria and National Film Organization under the title “Women Make Change”.

The festival is to feature award-winning films from the Philippines, Syria, Argentina, Belarus, Chile, India, Indonesia, Palestine, Pakistan, South Africa and Venezuela.

The National Women’s Month Celebration kicked off at the Filipino Workers Resource Center on 06 March 2022. The event was managed by the Philippine Embassy in Damascus. For the first time ever, the Embassy, in cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, conducted a four-week film screening featuring movies that depict women empowerment and showcase the beauty of the Philippines.
