Peskov Stresses Russia’s Firm Stance on Political Settlement in Syria with Participation of President Al-Assad

MOSCOW, (ST)- Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has reiterated Russia’s firm stance towards solving the crisis in Syria “politically and with the participation of President Bashar Al-Assad.”

Itar Tass news agency qouted Peskov as saying on Tuesday in response to yesterday’s White House statement that “President Vladimir Putin, during a phone conversation with his American counterpart Barack Obama on June 25th, stressed Russia’s firm stance regarding solving the crisis in Syria with the participation of President Bashar Al-Assad.”

Replying a question on prospects of a solution to the crisis in Syria, Peskov said “the two presidents exchanged view points on this issue during their phone conversation and the Russian stance was well-kown and was reaffirmed by President Putin.”
