Peskov: Responsibility for financing terrorism lies with countries supporting remaining terrorists in Syria

Moscow – Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed that the question of financing terrorism should be directed to the countries that support the remaining terrorist groups in Syria, SANA reported.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Peskov commented on the proposal submitted by a number of US senators to classify Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism by saying that “many hotheads work in the legislative bodies of different countries. And certainly these heads sometimes allow very emotional statements beyond common sense. We each time closely monitor them and try to understand how much this has to do with a country’s official position.”

He added that the question that should be directed to other countries is that who is supporting the remaining terrorists in Syria and who are the real sponsor of terrorism and the true sponsors of terrorists.
