People’s Assembly: The October Liberation War is a bright turning point in the history of contemporary Arabs

The People’s Assembly affirmed that the October Liberation War, which was planned and led with all boldness and courage by the founding leader Hafez al-Assad, constituted a bright turning point in the history of contemporary Arabs, and changed the military and political equations in the region by establishing the principle of linking peace and stability to the restoration of rights, especially the occupied Arab lands.
It contributed to establishing the culture of popular resistance against the occupation until all usurped rights were returned to their legitimate owners.
“The heroic men of our Syrian Arab Army managed to achieve on the land of the Syrian Arab Golan the most wonderful epics of heroism, sacrifice and redemption, and shattered the myth of the Zionist entity’s army, which was promoting that it was invincible”. The council said in a statement on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the October Liberation War, SANA received a copy of it.
The statement pointed to the council’s absolute faith in the steadfast Syrian people and their firm national unity, and ability to thwart all the conspiracies through which the enemies are trying to revive the legacy of old colonialism, plunder our country’s wealth, and steal its resources. The council expressed its confidence in achieving the final, complete victory with the determination of the heroes of our heroic armed forces and the wisdom and insight of the leader of the march of steadfastness, victory President Bashar al-Assad.
The statement saluted the Syrian steadfast people in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan as they resist the Zionist occupation with pride and dignity, stressing that the memory of the glorious October Liberation War will remain an incentive for generations throughout the days to defend the homeland and protect its land and borders from invaders and aggressors.
