The delegation of the People’s Assembly affirmed in its interventions that Syria is heading steadily towards achieving the goals of sustainable development, including eradicating poverty while preserving the environment, stressing that the PA seeks to issue many laws related to this matter.

The delegation reviewed the terrorist war on Syria which resulted in the destruction of the vital infrastructure by the terrorist groups, the looting of national wealth, and the subsequent economic blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people by the United States of America and Western countries.

The delegation pointed to the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck a number of Syrian governorates recently, appreciating highly the urgent humanitarian aid provided by a number of friendly countries to the Syrian people.
