People’s protection units drive ISIS terrorists out of 6 buildings in Ayn al-Arab city

ALEPPO,(ST)_The Kurdish people’s protection units have recaptured 6 buildings from the ISIS [ known as Daesh in Arabic] during a qualitative operation in the heart of Ayn al-Arab city north-east Aleppo, local sources confirmed Tuesday.

The sources clarified that 13 ISIS terrorists were killed in the operation a day after the death of 18 ISIS terrorists in clashes in several fronts in the city .

“A big quantity of weapons and ammunitions were confiscated during today’s operation,” the sources added.

Two days ago, there was fierce fighting between the YPG and the terror Daesh organization [ISIS] on southern and east- southern axes of the city.

On September 16, the Daesh launched an attack on Ayn al-Arab. As many as 100.000 people fled the city.     

Ayn al-Arab city and surrounding towns were reportedly home to about 400.000 people, most of them Kurds.
