People’s Assembly: Palestine question will remain the central cause for Syria

Damascus (ST): The People’s Assembly affirmed that the Palestine Question was and still is the central cause for Syria despite the global conspiracy and war that have been launched against it with the aim of changing its firm policy in support of this question.

In a statement issued on the 103rd anniversary of the notorious Balfour Declaration , the Assembly stressed that this  declaration is groundless and has been founded on  historical prejudice against the Arab and Palestinian people who have been paying heavy prices.

The statement pointed out that what happened in Syria over the past ten years cannot be separated from this declaration.

The Assembly affirmed that the Palestinian people are being subjected to the ugliest war crimes through the continuous aggressive practices of the occupation authorities  which aim to obliterate its inalienable rights, especially its right to self-determination and the establishment of its independent state.

In conclusion, the Assembly stressed that the conspiracy of forces of evil and aggression against Syria would not dissuade it from supporting the Arab causes, especially the Palestine question.
