People’s Assembly Delegation in Czech for Talks on Syrian Situation, Ways of Fighting Terrorism

PRAGUE, (ST)-At the invitation of the Czech Parliament, a Syrian People’s Assembly (PA) delegation led by Deputy Speaker Fahmi Hasan started yesterday an official 4-day visit to the Czech Republic to hold talks with the country’s officials on cooperation in fighting terrorism.

The Syrian delegation is due today to hold talks with chairman and members of the European Affairs Committee at the Czech Parliament and with Deputy Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Economy.

On Wednesday, Hasan met with Vice President of the Czech Senate Ivo Barek and discussed with him bilateral relations, the situation in Syria and methods of fighting terrorism.

In a statement to SANA, Barek said the talks were positive, pointing out that the Czech Republic and the European Union “are concerned in attaining stability in Syria.”

He stressed the need for unifying all countries’ efforts to fight terrorism and the terrorist organization calling itself the “Islamic State” (ISIS).
