People of Occupied Syrian Golan Rally to Protest Trump’s Irresponsible Stances on Golan

QUNEITRA, (ST)- People of occupied Syrian Golan rallied at the main Square of Majdal Shams town to protest US President Donald Trump’s stance on the occupied Syrian Golan.

In a recent tweet, Trump announced his  intention to recognize “Israel’s Sovereignty” over Syria’s Golan.

The protesters stressed their adherence to their national belongingness to their homeland and  affirmed their commitment to restoring the Golan to the Syrian national sovereignty whatever time it takes.

The protesters condemned the aggressive stances adopted by Trump and senior US officials, stressing that these stances lack legal and moral principles and violate international legitimacy.

Liberated prisoner Bisher al-Maqt, one of the protestors, said in a phone call with SANA office in Quneitra that “the Golan is a Syrian land despite the expansionist and colonialist schemes of war sponsors.”

He pointed out that Trump’s statements are nonsense as they are made by a person who is known by the world for his strange and irresponsible behavior.

Other protestors condemned Trump’s statements , stressing that they contradicts UN resolutions on occupied Golan and are a blatant interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

The protestors affirmed the determination of the people of Golan to continue their resistance against the Israeli occupation’s practices which aim at judaizing and annexing the Golan.

The Syrian foreign ministry on Friday condemned in the strongest terms the irresponsible statements made by Trump on the Syrian Golan, stressed that the statements affirm Washington’s blind bias towards the Zionist occupation entity, but they will not change the fact that the Golan will continue to be a Syrian Arab land.
