People Are Entitled to Legitimize the Leadership in Syria – Aoun

BEIRUT, (ST) _Head of the Change and Reform Bloc in the Lebanese Parliament  Gen. Michel Aoun stressed  that arms smuggling from Lebanon to Syria continues  across the border and the Lebanese state must adjust these borders  and prevent extremists from infiltrating through it.

“These foreign elements established  border centers to oversee smuggling and infiltration operations, and they  attacked the Lebanese army in Arsal ” Aoun said in an interview with Al-Manar TV  last night, adding ,”therefore, there should be no self-distance regarding Arsal, Akkar and Tripoli, because vacuum brings in chaos and anarchy beings in crimes.

He stressed that steadfastness of leadership in Syria is a reality that others do not want to recognize, although they have since the beginning of the crisis assumed weekly appointments for its departure, noting that the Syrian leadership is still in position and does not suffer problems in foreign policy and the army

“President Bashar al-Assad will not lose the current  battle ” adding that “contact with him continues and there   is no sin to visit Damascus at any time because he is the  president-elect by the Syrian people who  are eligible of  giving legitimacy and not France and other Western countries, ”  Aoun said.

On the other hand , Aoun pointed out that the other party in Lebanon is persistent to cancel or delay  the parliamentary elections, because it survives  on the end of the crisis in Syria.

Aoun explained that his bloc adheres either to the  Orthodox law , which allows each community  to choose  own deputies or to  Lebanon ‘s one circle with relativity  because the law of  majority “would be a death for us,” pointing that if there is no consensus on clear  rights , there will be no agreement.
