Pedersen: We welcome the assurances given by the new leadership in Syria

UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pederden said that he held meetings with the Syrian president, the foreign minister and a wide spectrum of Syrians.

He welcomed the assurances provided by the new leadership that Syria will be for all the Syrians.

Pedersen also said that he sensed a genuine convergence between the expectations of Syrians, commitments of the caretaker authorities, and key principles of Security Council resolution 2254.
