Farmers are determined to work for advancing agriculture and restoring Syria’s food security

Damascus (ST): The General Union of Farmers affirmed that Syrian productive and generous farmers are working to advance agriculture in the country to restore its food security by adopting self-reliance in securing production requirements.

The Union said in a statement on the occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Farmers’ Day: “The conspiracy forces, while targeting our beloved homeland, worked to destroy the Syrian agriculture. With their awareness of the truth of the conspiracy and belief in their President, party, and farmers’ organization, the farmers remained victorious over circumstances and worked for the sake of their people and homeland.”

The Union made it clear that it would remain the organization that leads the farmers’ struggle, expresses their aspirations for the future and defends their interests.

The Union indicated that the steadfastness of the farmers and their unlimited giving, especially in light of the difficult circumstances Syria has passed through and despite all that they have been subjected to, express their confidence in their organization and their absolute belief in the march of steadfastness and victory.
