‘Peace candles’ exhibition in Sweida shows civilized image of Arab people

The second ‘Peace Candles’ exhibition was opened Sunday in the cultural center in Sweida city- south of the country- where 60 art works by 56 Arab artists were featured.

The art works depicted wishes for the restoration of peace and stability to all Arab countries, according to the official news agency (SANA) which indicated that the artists used white pigeon, candles and beautiful nature to express their wishes.

The agency quoted Director of the Cultural Center Mansour Hnidi as saying that the exhibition is an important activity as it calls for peace and love and the revival of all that is beautiful in order to confront the terror war being waged on Syria.

On his part, the Lebanese artist Nazir Kokash said that the exhibition aims to show the civilized image of the Arab people through peace colours.

“The peace candles exhibition is due to be opened in Lebanon soon,” he added.

The exhibition included several art works showing a journey from war to peace and the psychological effects of crimes perpetrated by terrorist organizations in Syria.

The first ‘Peace Candles’ exhibition was opened by the beginning of the last month in the Damascus Opera House where 100 art works by 75 Arab artists were featured.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war have been waged against Syria targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
