Patrushev: OPCW is accusing Syria and not asking the United States about its chemical arsenal

On April 7th, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev condemned the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)  for its stance towards the United States.

He added that the United States is reluctant to destroy its chemical weapons at a time when it gave reports on Syria before the same events took place.

In an interview with the Russian newspaper Kommersant, Patrushev said: “According to OPCW, Syria destroyed its entire stockpiles of chemical weapons, even in record time, while the United States of America still maintained quantities stored in its warehouses.”

Patrushev added that when there was talk about chemical accidents in Syria, based on the information of the so-called “White Helmets”, the notorious, the results were drawn immediately.

This organization worked in Syria to the extent that it published its reports sometimes even before the occurrence of the same events.

Commenting on Russia’s accusations of trying to poison Russian officer Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia, as well as poisoning opposition Alexei Navalny, Patrushev clarified that these accusations don’t contain even a shred of evidence .
