HOMS, (ST)-Patriarch of Antioch and All East for Greek Orthodox Youhanna X Yazigi, has called for fraternity and cohesion between the Syrian Moslems and Christians in the face of conspiracies being hatched against Syria, stressing that “Syria will continue to be the home of peace, amity and fraternity.”
In a mass he presided on Sunday in the Syrian town of Marmarita, Yazigi hoped that peace will be restored to Syria and the Syrian land will be cleared from terrorism as soon as possible, “but this needs all the Syrians to do their duty and play their role in this respect.”

Meanwhile in Beirut, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi has urged the international Security Council as well as Western and Arab countries to join efforts in the fight against terrorism and terrorist groups which keep committing massacres and crimes in the region.
“We renew our call on all concerned countries in the West and the East to halt financial and arms support for the terrorist groups and to stop sending mercenaries to attack, kill, displace and destroy in Syria and Iraq,” al-Rahi said in a mass held yesterday, urging the UN, the Security Council, the International Criminal Court and the Arab League to fight terrorist organizations and protect religious minorities.
“We pray to God for peace in Syria, Iraq and Palestine and for settling crises through peaceful negotiations,” al-Rahi added, urging also the Israeli occupation to withdraw from the occupied territories in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.
