DAMASCUS, (ST) _ Patriarch John X of Antioch Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Orthodox church stressed during a meeting in the Patriarchate in Damascus, the Presidency Political and Media Advisor Dr. Butheina Shaaban that “dialogue and political solution is the way to get out of the crisis in Syria.”
According to a statement issued by the Patriarchate yesterday, Patriarch Yazigi talked in his meeting with Dr. Shaaban about the suffering of the Syrians, especially in the last period as, “they are paying a heavy price for extremist ideologies of kidnapping and targeting civilians.”
Patriarch Yazigi said that these terrorist practices “were and will remain strange to the reality and history of coexistence among the Syrian social spectra,” stressing that “it is Syria’s right to restore back safety and to consolidate the foundations of coexistence and true citizenship through the reconciliation efforts of its people. “
Earlier, Patriarch Yazigi criticized in a speech following thanksgiving prayers in al-Beshara Church in Kuwait the world silence for the victims falling in the Orient as a result of “terrorist operations and discriminatory standards”.
