Patriarch Rahi Prays for Peace in Syria, Lebanon

BEIRUT, (ST)-Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi, prayed during Sunday sermon for peace to prevail in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, the holy lands and all countries of the Middle East, stressing the need to elect a president to the Lebanese Republic.

The sermon was held in Bkirky on the occasion of the international day of peace.

“We pray to God to send Lebanon a President who maintains national unity among Muslims and Christians, who bolsters the work of state institutions and who brings back the prestige of the Constitution,” the patriarch said.

He added “we pray that everyone is liberated from his/her enslavement, whether to their own interests, to people or ideologies, to money or weapons, or to lust after power.”
