Partnership between Government and Civil Society Associations Important to Build the Future- Workshop
DAMASCUS, (ST)- Souria Al-Madania Association (Civil Syria Association) in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development yesterday held a workshop to discuss the importance of partnership between the government and the Syrian civil society Associations in building the future and preparing vocationally qualified generation.
Participants in the workshop urged putting a national program that organizes the work of civil society organizations in Syria.
Minister of Administrative Development Hassan al-Nouri stressed that “cooperation between the government and civil society organizations enhances the essential role of these organizations in the coming era.” He said efforts should be exerted to make these organizations more professional through boosting their cooperation with the state institutions.
Al-Nouri urged dialogue and interaction between members of the different civil socity associations in Syria in order to surpass the repurcussions of the crisis. He affirmed the necessity of establishing a unified national program through which these associations can represent Syria strongly and properly.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Hamed Hassan said the wrokshop is a serious attempt by the Syrian civil society to do something that serves Syria and that is added to the works done by other Syrians each in his/her field to help the country get out of the crisis.
On his part, Tarek al-Ahmad, Member of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Social Nationalist party and Chairman of the Board of “Civil Syria Association” said the workshop aimed to make consulations, to discuss partnership between the civil society and the government and to find executive machanism that organizes the associations’ work and make it more effective.
He clarified that the civil society in Syria carryies out many works to assist citizens, so its work needs to be organized in order to eliminate all negative points that hinder the achievement of the civil society organizations in providing assistance to society.
Father Elias Zahlawi, on his part, asserted the importance of confronting the danger threatening Syria, starting reconstruction in the country and enhancing joint action among all people of the country without exception, because “all must defend the homeland and rebuild it as Syria needs the efforts of all its citizens.”
