Participants in the Jordanian-Syrian Economic Forum hope for more production and marketing integration

Damascus (ST): The participants in the sessions of the second day of the Jordanian-Syrian Economic Forum at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus discussed the prospects for cooperation and industrial and agricultural integration between Jordan and Syria and the promising opportunities, in addition to reviewing the capabilities of Jordanian companies within the exhibition accompanying the forum, and their business opportunities in the Syrian market in the fields of inter-trade, agencies, services and industry , the financial sector, insurance, contracting, construction, universities and agriculture.
Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh stressed that there is an opportunity for greater cooperation and integration between Syrian and Jordanian industries, and the establishment of partnerships between them, due to the different advantages that each possesses to restore luster to the industrial sector, which depends on raw materials in both countries.
Minister Sabbagh pointed out that there are Jordanian industries that achieve a great added value that does not exist in Syria, and on the other hand, there are Syrian industries that achieve added value in Jordan, considering that integration is required in production and marketing with attention to the human factor and raw materials, and organizing joint sessions with specialists, to reach to an integrated work and industry formula, between the private sector in both countries.
For his part, the deputy head of the Damascus and Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, Louay Nahlawi, pointed out that the Syrian industry went through difficult circumstances during the terrorist war on Syria, and today it is in a better situation after its restoration and rehabilitation, stressing the need to activate the role of the private sector in order to preserve and develop the industry, and to communicate with the Jordanian side which has a great desire to cooperate with Syrian industrialists, given the low prices of Syrian goods for Jordanian traders compared to other countries.
The head of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, called for the need to take quick measures in order to facilitate the process of partnership between the two countries, and to remove all obstacles in front of that, pointing out that Syria constitutes the economic and social depth of Jordan, and that the Syrian industry is a historical industry that has reached the whole world.
