Participants in “The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” symposium call for a global front to isolate the Israeli entity  

Yesterday, the “Al-Assad” Library in Damascus hosted a symposium held by the Al-Quds International Institution (QII) on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People where Syrian and Palestinian politicians, and representatives of parties took part.

The Political and Media Advisor at the Syrian Presidency Bouthaina Shaaban said that what is happening in Palestine and what has happened in Syria targets all Arabs and we have the same destination, whether we want this or not, as the Zionist enemy seeks to have hegemony over the region and to delete the Arab history and culture and to replace them with Zionist culture.

“ For more than 50 years, the Zionists have been saying that they want the United States of Israel in the Middle East which is similar to the United States of America. So, it is the duty of all Arabs towards themselves to stand by both Palestine and Syria by all means,” Shaaban added.

She asserted that the West represents tyrants who support those who commit genocide and ethnic cleansing.  “We, as the friends of the Palestinian cause, have to know where we are now and what we have to do… We have to focus on the new directions of western media.. It is not a shame to learn from them how to address the world as they are able to get support despite the massacres they perpetrate.”

For his part, Ismael Al-Sendawi, representative of the Islamic Jihad in Palestine, said that real solidarity means to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the massacres being perpetrated today in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Zionist Scheme

Palestinian Ambassador in Damascus Samir Al-Refaei said that today we are witnessing today part of the Zionist scheme that the Palestinian people have  faced since the Balfour Declaration.

“ Al-Aqsa Flood is not the reason behind the Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip. It was exploited by the Israeli entity to complete its scheme in occupied Palestine,” he added, stressing that national unity is the only way to achieve victory.

The ambassador went in to say” Today, we are witnessing a bloody attack by the Israeli occupation forces on the residents of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in tens of thousands of wounded and martyrs, in addition to the destruction of thousands of homes and the displacement of more than a million people.”

He also talked about the American-Western complicity with the plan of the Zionist entity, especially their unlimited military, security and political support and the misleading media coverage of the Zionist lies about the aggression, indicating that the organic political and strategic connection of American policy with the Zionist project started before and during the establishment of the Israeli entity and continued until now.

The United States considers that as its project, and that is why we are not surprised by the complicit stance of the current American administration and the administrations that preceded it,” he concluded.

Syria plays key role in supporting Palestinian cause

Director of the Arab-International Center for Communication and Solidarity Maan Bashour declared that Syria has offered all forms of support to the Palestinian people and it considers the Palestinian cause as a main cause.

“ Syria has played a key role in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people throughout contemporary Arab history, and it has offered all sacrifices for the sake of Palestine and defended the Palestinian cause in word and deed. Syria has never refrained from offering help and support for Palestinian brothers,” he said.

Bashour called for establishing a global front to isolate the entity internationally, and to get benefit the popular and official situation and international solidarity with the Palestinian cause in the world that appeared after the Al-Aqsa flood and after the Zionist massacres and genocide that were carried out by the Israeli occupation against Gaza, the West Bank and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Member of the Central Committee Office and Official in Charge of International Relations in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Maher Al-Taher said that there are attempts to divide the forces of the Axis of Resistance.

“ Resistance is the only way to liberate land and restore rights. Humanitarian stances of solidarity with the Palestinian people are important, but putting pressure on the Israeli entity to stop the aggression is the most important thing,” he asserted, saluting all those who stand by the Palestinian cause.

Director-General of the International Al-Quds Institution-Syria Khalaf Al-Miftah underscored the importance of the international resolution adopted by the United Nations in 1977 when it launched the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, which the United Nations commemorates every year.

“ This day coincides with the day on which the General Assembly adopted Partition Resolution No. 181, to indicate the necessity of implementing the international resolutions adopted by the international organization and its bodies to defend the just rights of the Palestinian people,” he clarified.

Al-Miftah referred to importance of this symposium being held on the Arab land of Damascus, to convey a world an international, Arab-Palestinian message emphasizing support for the Palestinian people and standing by their side in the face of the Israeli aggression and the Zionist plan that are supported by America and the West.

He concluded by saying: “The Syrian leadership, people and army stand alongside the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem and all the occupied territories in their just struggle until the liberation of all the occupied territories and the restoration of legitimate Palestinian rights protected by international conventions and resolutions.”
