Participants in the International Conference on Digital Transformation: Holding the Conference in Syria is an opportunity to explore the digital future there
Damascus (ST): The importance of holding the Third International Conference on Digital Transformation (Opportunities and Challenges) in Syria comes after years of the terrorist war against it in order to help it realize digital transformation and review its problems and obstacles in this field, in accordance with one of the objectives and missions of the Arab Federation for E-Commerce.
The former Minister for Economic Affairs in the Tunisian government, Rida Saeedi, said in a statement that holding the conference is an opportunity to explore the future for Syria, given that it deals with a fundamental issue not only at the level of the Arab world, but also at the international level, and it is related to the digital revolution and the digital transition.
In turn, Nikolai Sukhov, the Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, stressed the importance of the conference because it comes after years of war on Syria, and said that its capabilities are very diverse through creative young cadres in the field of information technology and its high level of education and skills, and work for international companies.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for E-Commerce underlined the importance of digital transformation as being more comprehensive and more general than what is called electronic commerce.
Abdel Fattah explained that any country can take some measures to activate digital transformation, for example if we are talking about bills, electronic taxes, issuance of certificates and electronic payment, every person must have a bank account through which the state can monitor banking procedures and through digital transformation we can get rid of the so-called shadow economy.
Dr. Ra’ed Mohammad Hananda, Director of Services and Product Development at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Group, underlined the importance of the conference in order to understand what digital transformation is in countries, especially since most of these countries depend on a knowledge economy.
