He said the coordination between the Syrian and Russian forces in carrying out the air and ground operations has started to achieve impressive results in the fight against terrorism in Syria and Iraq, according to SANA.

Syria, al-Laham added, is also pushing for a political solution in parallel with fighting terrorism with the help of its friends in Russia and Iran.

He took the opportunity of the meeting to express appreciation of the Russian parliamentarians’ role in showing to the international public opinion the importance of unifying international efforts in the fight against terrorism and unveiling the nature of this terrorism in Syria.

Gavrilov also noted that the Russian delegation’s members will discuss upon their return to Russia the mechanisms for the Russian participation in the post-crisis reconstruction process in Syria and means of boosting financial and humanitarian support to the Syrian people.
