Parliament Speaker meets the delegation from Defending Syria Association in Sweden

DAMASCUS – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Laham stressed the importance of the role played by the Syrian communities abroad.

During his meeting with the visiting delegation from “Defending Syria Association” in Sweden, al-Laham said Syria needs the efforts of all its citizens to participate in refuting the misinformation campaign against Syria and contribute to supporting the post-crisis reconstruction process, SANA reported.

 For his part, George Maqdisi Elias, head of the delegation of Defending Syria Association, that was established in 2012, said the Association will act as a bridge to convey the true image of the events in Syria to the Swedish public opinion.

The delegation members stressed the need to establish a bank to contribute to supporting the reconstruction process and helping thousands of Syrians carry out their own businesses.
