Parliament says Martyrs’ Day is an occasion to adhere to principles regardless of all challenges

The People’s Assembly [ Parliament] has affirmed that the Martyrs’ Day is an occasion to adhere to and protect the homeland, principles and sovereignty regardless of all  challenges, as it is the way to deter aggressions and liberate the land completely by the Syrian Army, who draw great victories with their sacrifices. 

 

In a statement released on Thursday on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, the People’s Assembly said that Syria is aware of the sublime meanings of martyrdom and knows that it is greater than words, for it is on the top of the values and the symbol of purity and upgrading to the ranks of eternity, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA). 

 

It added that the martyrs of May 6th , 1916, were the first ones who crossed the freedom road, to be followed by freedom fighters in the battles of honor and heroism against the brutal Ottoman, French and Zionist occupations to the battle of Syria today against the forces of evil, terrorism and aggression which are backed by international and regional forces that aim to undermine Syria’s security and stability to serve the Zionist-American plan for fragmenting the region, subjugating it, and redrawing its political map.

 

The parliament asserted that the Syrian people recall with pride the great sacrifices that were offered to defend the homeland.
